Living Here With Chaos and Creation
Living Here With Chaos and Creation
Our Lady of Prompt Succor, we are lost unless you hasten to our aid.
That prayer has lived with me since Hurricane Katrina. It names both urgency and hope: the truth that we cannot endure alone, and the faith that care arrives through grace, people, and time.
Living Here With Chaos and Creation gathers works completed after decades of lived experience. Together, they reflect on disaster, recovery, and spiritual endurance—not as moments to be overcome, but as conditions we learn to inhabit.
These works attend to landscape and inner life alike, tracing how change reshapes both land and spirit. They offer a space to witness connection—between homes, histories, and the shared responsibility we carry for one another.
