Finding A New Way
When people ask me to share
Usually I’m thinking— what’s the point
Y’all have too many expectations and
Why not keep the mystery alive?
And I either talked too much—
Or I said nothing at all.
On the issue of participating—
I definitely participated.
I’m still a participant.
Putting myself out there—
So you think I pissed you off
Touché— I’ve been pissed
Pardon me for being present
What is it that you want?
Oh, we’re already back to expectations
Connect, offend, repair, forgive— repeat
I don’t own you. You don’t own me.
Maybe it’s pent up pandemic energy—
It was never our first fight—
I’m sorry and I love you— sincerely.
You know we have to find a way
Get back to being the best ever!
