PLOGS BELOW (JML's Poetic Commentary)
You Decide
It’s finding the grey area
When you stop wanting
A clean definition
So, you screwed up—
All those times— mere seconds
And they say don’t—
Let the bad define your life
But you can’t change
You’ve been effected
So embrace change
Living a dreary spring
And when you’re ready
Everyone’s moved on
So you say I love you
Needing to believe
Some days you feel it
Some days you don’t
You wonder what can repair it.
You pray listening— not asking.
You want to be different.
You want everything but this.
You want to know why, how, what if
But you can’t change the past
While planning for the future
And time slips by
With each I’m sorry
I’m not your envoy
Or scapegoat
Or a subtle omission
Yeah, we’ve got different memories.
Yeah, we’re different people.
And we still have to believe.
And we have to live.
This is the only life we’re given.
So, I can forgive not forget.
Knowing— I am stronger.
