And I know--
There is no such thing--
As a concrete day. (PERIOD)
Or take the cement
The good dirt and shale
Of the Earth--
Mixed with binders
The rolling barrel
Of the truck--
The workers making
Level streets and
Sidewalks--
The concrete expands
With the heat of the Sun
With friction of transit
The concrete contracts
With frozen winter
With rain rinsing-- cleansing
Oil residue from commotion
The cray of Modern Life
The cracking and crumbling
Of TIME passing
Serving a reflection
Clouds pinned down
On the ground--
Because--
It--
Rained.
