PLOGS BELOW (JML's Poetic Commentary)
In the last 30+ days, I have eaten over 100 free meals at soup kitchens. This project started as an endeavor to find a healthier way to eat on $50 a month. Below is an outline of this 10 page blog. Thank you for supporting JML-Studio projects and please feel free to leave a comment.
1. Addressing the needs of homeless-- including myths and over looked causes of homelessness
2. The amount of energy an adult uses a day and how much food is required to sustain life-- including dietary needs and issues of stress, medication, and lifestyle
3. Risks and benefits of feeding large groups of people-- including exposing children to soup kitchens, emotions and hunger, food sanitation, food security
4. Types of facilities providing soup kitchens-- including health guide lines, staff, and volunteers
5. Amount of money and food needed to serve the homeless in the USA for one day-- including national statistics and varying populations
6. What I learned from this experience and how I decided to help out-- including employment assistance and taking individuals to free events
7. How you can get involved in your own town and not feel guilty about your lifestyle-- including setting boundaries before going in to a soup kitchen and being prepared for unexpected blessings and resentment
XOXO! JML
