PLOGS BELOW (JML's Poetic Commentary)

This photo is of 2 weeks supply of
food to feed myself 2000 calories a
day according to the USDA Food Pyramid.
The food expense was $64.00
and was purchased from a grocery
store on a bus route. I use a monthly
bus pass so my transportation
expense was only $2.40-- thus bringing
the total of purchasing groceries
to $66.40. My monthly rent including
all utilities is $700,
which roughly calculates to $23.00 a
day for housing one person.
So, just to provide food, shelter, and
transportation for myself (adult female)
a day in the USA is approximately an
expense of $29.50.
